Steve Branton, CFP®, CPCC®

Senior Vice President

Steve’s mission is to serve clients as their key thought partner in the design of their financial life plans. His clients come from different walks of life and are at varying stages of their financial journey. Many of them are successful, career-driven, professionals who are experiencing life transitions and appreciate the guidance and ongoing partnership of a financial advisor to help them navigate these significant life milestones with empathy.

In addition to his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, Steve is an Accredited Domestic Partner Advisor (ADPA); he has received special training on the issues affecting non-traditional clients, such as unmarried couples, domestic partners or same sex couples, as well as the financial and legal issues related to marriage planning. Steve also earned the Certified Co-Active Coach® (CPCC) credential. He received his training at the Coaches Training Institute (CTI).

Steve has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Time Magazine, San Francisco Business Times, and other publications, and writes articles on a variety of financial topics, including cross-border planning, crowdfunding, and marriage planning. In 2021, he was recognized by North Bay Business Journal as a North Bay Pride Business Leader.

Steve currently serves as co-chair of the Professional Advisory Board of the Horizons Foundation. As a core part of his professional mission, he annually volunteers for SF Financial Planning Days, which provides local residents with access to free and objective advice. Steve recently co-organized the first of its kind pro bono planning day at the SF LGBT Center. He has also volunteered as a planner at the Jewish Community Center’s annual Aging Gracefully Fair, the SF Spanish Financial Advice Line and student planning days at the City College of San Francisco. Steve has been a speaker on planning topics for the Earned Asset Resource Network (EARN) and Treasure Island Job Corps.

“It’s not just about numbers; I provide financial life planning for my clients, which is where our life journey intersects with our wealth. Money can create so much conflict in life if not organized and aligned with one’s personal life goals. I help people find peace and stability knowing they’ve made choices that contribute and nurture the seeds they want to see grow.”
