John F. Thiel, MBA, CFP®
Assistant Vice PresidentJohn Thiel is a financial advisor who brings clarity and structure to life’s most complex financial decisions. With a background in international business and financial planning, he’s known for his calm presence, analytical mindset, and ability to guide clients through high-stakes transitions with confidence.
John’s approach is rooted in a lifelong curiosity about how things work, from saving for a BMX bike as a kid to analyzing stock performance in high school. That early interest evolved into a career focused on helping people make thoughtful, informed choices about their financial lives. He’s especially energized by clients who want a strategic partner, someone who can help them think through big questions and move forward with purpose.
Clients often come to John during pivotal moments: when they’re considering when work could become optional, supporting aging parents, planning for their children’s education, or simply seeking more direction.
His interests in macroeconomics and emerging technologies like crypto add depth to his planning conversations, especially for clients who appreciate a forward-thinking perspective.
Outside of work, he spends time traveling the world, hiking one of the many scenic trails in Marin, and with family.
