Joel Shapiro brings more than 30 years of ERISA and fiduciary consulting experience to his leadership within the firm’s retirement advisory platform. A former ERISA attorney and seasoned consultant, Joel specializes in translating complex regulations into practical strategies for Plan Sponsors and advancing the firm’s overall ERISA framework.
Throughout his career, Joel has advised large Plan Sponsors on plan design, fiduciary governance and regulatory compliance. He is widely recognized and respected for developing ERISA playbooks and best practice fiduciary models that help balance rigor with operational efficiency.
Joel holds degrees from Tufts University, American University’s Washington College of Law (J.D.), and Georgetown University Law Center (LL.M. Taxation). He is a frequent speaker at national retirement conferences and serves as a senior liaison to key industry partners and leadership organizations.
