Hoyt joined the firm in 2016. In his role as General Counsel, he oversees all legal functions for the firm and heads up strategic initiatives, including the firm’s M&A activities. He previously spent more than 19 years as a partner in the Milwaukee office of the national law firm of Quarles & Brady, where he served as the chair of the Investment Management Practice group and focused on securities, investment management, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and financial institutions. He has extensive experience counseling boards of directors and executive officers at public and private companies regarding complex corporate governance and compliance matters and served for over five years as corporate secretary to an NYSE-listed public company. He is a frequent speaker and commentator on legal and compliance issues facing the investment management community and serves as a guest lecturer on securities laws to the University of Wisconsin Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic.
